Hitch - recorded in a bedroom in 1995 Aberdeen Scotland over six days is a remarkable achievement for an album which still sounds fresh in 2020.

When I joined forces with Richard Miller and Tony Scott aka Havana we had a youthful creative energy which oozes from every beat of this 90's Techno album. It's raw, musical and energetic and even a bit naive but this is why it's something I can still listen to today and not get bored.

Tony and Richard were a source of great inspiration and learning for me. We acted like old school producers and engineers. They were the ears, the knowledge, the finger on the underground pulse & I was the technical, the musician, the engineer - it was a perfect situation for this album.

The tracks were mostly recorded on the fly straight to stereo Dat tape. The arrangement being performed in real time slamming the mixers faders in and out to create the story in real time. It is essentially a performance based album & I ended up making many records in this way and still do it today on new material I will begin releasing in late 2020.

I sometimes think Havana could have gone quite big. It was something I wanted to pursue becasue I could hear something special in this album and the musical relationship the three of us had was unique and would be developed over time. I felt it was something to capitalize on but Tony and Richard were not to keen on being a band because they viewed themselves as DJ's first and foremost - which is understandable. After this album I tended to work with them individually producing dozens of records with Richard and Tony.
